Dynamic load allowance of long-span modular steel bridges

چکیده

Modular steel bridges are structures whose construction is based on regular prefabricated truss units. This presents several advantages, such as rapid and easy deployment, high adaptability to the terrain reduced costs. However, they generally face operational restrictions for span lengths greater than 60m. Recent technological innovations search overcome these limitations develop modular with larger spans. Hence, main objective of this work evaluate dynamic effects long-span bridges. The present contribution provides a study two bridge typologies, considering different from 120 140m. A 3D coupled vehicle–bridge model used analyse interaction load allowance structures. vehicle represented multibody truck system modelled finite element method. Several types randomly-generated road irregularities considered deck. effect each type irregularity evaluated results obtained reveal notable influence that involve abrupt vertical displacements excite mode shapes. In addition, it observed indices tend decrease longer spans higher speeds, except when resonance produced.

Long Span Bridges

Population growth followed by the dramatic increase and demand for new services created an urgent and overwhelming need for infrastructures of civil engineering structures. However, the current infrastructure work using various techniques and conventional materials for construction will not solve the traditional and continuous deterioration of concrete structures due to corrosion of steel. One ...

Wang and Fu 1 STATIC AND STABILITY ANALYSIS OF LONG - SPAN CABLE - STAYED STEEL BRIDGES

The analysis based on an ideal state as well as the simulation and control to reach it are common issues in the design and construction of a cable-stayed bridge. For a long-span cable-stayed bridge, the huge initial stress accumulated in the pylon and the girder will reduce the overall structure stiffness. Thus, the live load evaluation employing influence lines, which is based on the Muller-Br...

Experimental Determination of Dynamic Allowance for Traffic Loading in Bridges

Bridge codes adopt values for dynamic allowance in traffic load models that are necessarily conservative to cover for an entire range of bridges with different mechanical characteristics, boundary conditions, and the large number of uncertainties associated to the vehicle-bridge interaction problem. A further level of conservatism occurs due to the independent manner in which the governing stat...

Dynamic impact analysis of long span cable-stayed bridges under moving loads

The aim of this paper is to investigate the dynamic response of long span cable-stayed bridges subjected to moving loads. The analysis is based on a continuum model of the bridge, in which the stay spacing is assumed to be small in comparison with the whole bridge length. As a consequence, the interaction forces between the girder, towers and cable system are described by means of continuous di...

Elastic-plastic Seismic Behavior of Long Span Cable-stayed Bridges

This paper investigates the elastic-plastic seismic behavior of long span cable-stayed steel bridges through the plane finite-element model. Both geometric and material nonlinearities are involved in the analysis. The geometric nonlinearities come from the stay cable sag effect, axial force-bending moment interaction, and large displacements. Material nonlinearity arises when the stiffening ste...
